Geneva, October 18th, 2011. The organizers hoped for 4 ‘ 000 visitors and they were about 6 ‘ 000 who came to crunch some chocolate the last weekend during the first International Chocolatiers and Chocolate Exhibition which was held in the Building of driving Strengths in Geneva.
Huge success for a first edition which demonstrates that a show dedicated exclusively to the art of the chocolate factory has a rightful place in Geneva. the divine bean knew how to delight the small and big gourmets and the present chocolate makers already reserved their place for the next year.

Numerous strong moments gave rhythm to this demonstration inaugurated on Saturday morning by the Member of the Council of State Pierre-François Unger. The numerous visitors were surprised by learning about the tasting of new flavours, taste the raw chocolate and have a wonderful times thanks to the cacao aromas … The children enjoyed it wholeheartedly, dipping the fingers into the smooth masses for their biggest pleasure! Sponsor of the event, Pierre Marcolini, brilliant artist fascinated by the cabosse, lover explorer of sublime alliances, knew how to conquer the Swiss public by his generosity, as well as his country of origin: Belgium.
Saturday evening, the Round Table on the ethical chocolate allowed to remind that the cocoa is not only powder or bean, it is also the foodstuff which contributes to the survival of thousand youngs producers and from which the high quality allows to guarantee the satisfaction of the consumers. On Sunday, a jury of experts awarded the Prize of Geneva to the chocolate maker Jean-Pascal Sérignat of the Chocolate factory of the Rhône, in Geneva.
The Prize of Geneva – Gilbert Albert
It is a magnificent trophy created by Gilbert Albert, the talented Genevan jeweler, who came to reward unanimously the technical and artistic control of the chocolate maker who also won a finery of writing offered by Caran d’ Ache. The visitors also elected their favourite chocolate maker, seduced by the reception and the inventiveness of the candy store Zurichoise, Honold, to whom the Prize of the Public, offered again by Caran d’ Ache, was awarded.
The next edition of the International Chocolatiers and Chocolate Exhibition will be organized in October, 2012 in the same spirit of excellence and innovation, to offer to chocolate makers a unique occasion to present the new creations, start the trends and share their know-how with visitors already conquered. Supported by the association ” the fanatics of chocolate ” and strong of this first success, the next edition wishes to attract more foreign chocolate makers and desires the presence of English and Italian houses !

Organized by Salon des Chocolatiers, the International Chocolatiers and Chocolate Exhibition is the key event in the schedule of this company which also proposes numerous performances to delight the chocolate lovers.
