The last journey of the senses signed Van Cleef & Arpels: Oriens

Oriens is an amazing fragrance, not only by the bottle, which won an award well deserved, based on a creation of Van Cleef & Arpels Jewelry, but also by its fragrance.

There is an alliance of spices from the East, as its title suggests, but also the scent of flowers and fruitis a chypre floral-fruity by the House.

Indeed, the smell is sweet, sensual, bewitching but also light and fresh, a rare distinction.

Van Cleef invites us in his own words on a trip East to China and its delights, but in my opinion to the Arab world too.

For the composition:

Top notes: mandarin, blackcurrant, raspberry.

Notes: jasmine, lily-flower water, solar grade

Base notes: blond wood, patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla, amber, chocolate.

To the vial is a marvel:

The cap becomes iridescent faceted cut and trimmed with gold, crimson, pink and tangerine like a stone that still seems so mysterious, tourmaline, and finds himself embraced by the chopped leaf boxes, bottle in it itself is a voluptuous roundness.

The bottle, itself an object of decoration, also represents a technical feat that Trossat Marion, packaging development manager, has agreed to disclose to me backstage.

Is this the first time that the house Van Cleef & Arpels inspired by one of his creations of jewelry for aperfume bottle?

“La Maison Van Cleef & Arpels has always inspired his creations to make perfumes. First was the first perfume already inspired a necklace of ears as more recently Enchantment.

Why the choice of this ring model specifically?

It was a choice of house to showcase one of its most beautiful creations from the collection of the Tree of Dreams. This tourmaline ring was evident to the house who saw everything naturally a strong inspiration for this room fragrance.

How did the team method for transcribing this inspiration jewelry to the bottle?

The ring was taken literally and reinterpreted to draw the cover of the bottle, which had to be restrained in order to highlight the cover as the stone on his mounting ring.

What are the technical constraints that had to be overcome?

For the bottle (made by Luigi Bormioli), the difficulty was on the set in platinum flux plot tracking in the bottle. The cover (made by LISI) is composed of 5 pieces, stone, metallic inner cap to reflect the triple coating of stone ballast, and the inner room to hide the ballast and finally leaves. The biggest difficulty lies in making the mold of leaves. These lines had to be slightly upgraded compared to the model of Desgrippes (designer) to make them scrollable. We have chosen to make ABS galvanized to manage the clipping with the metallic shell and stone. The triple coating has also been difficult to develop. The case (made by Alliora) is also a very great achievement because we find the screen to the bottom of Pearl, the offset and hot stamping.

It should be noted that Oriens has received the Platinum Award Pentaward 2010, a distinction well deserved in my opinion, since Miss VIP initially succumbed to the bottle before the content even if the intoxication of the senses remains.

A beautiful jewel, do not hesitate to adorn his skin elixir that can be worn day to evening elegance as for its refinement of Reveillon
