Read in the Tribune de Geneva, 17/1/11:

Because there is not that beautiful watches in Geneva life There are so many other beautiful things as seeing, live

Geneva and Fribourg open new artist residencies in Berlin. The two workshops located in a building complex dedicated entirely to arts activities in the district of Wedding, replacing the previously sharedby the two Cantons in Prenzlauer Berg.

Since 1998, more than twenty artists from both townships, selected by competition, have stayed in Berlin to make a personal project. Due to the success of this residency, each canton has her own studio-apartment. The Geneva, 170 m2 host for the first six months of the year an artist, as was the case in the former residence. A novelty, however. It will be open to an artist of all other areas (arts, writing, film ) the last six months of the year

As the creators of the canton of Fribourg, will continue to share the residence in Berlin, but now with theEuropean Centre for contemporary art actions in Strasbourg. Visual artists of the both regions will stayin rotation for six months. This studio-apartment occupies a total area of 116m2.

So we see here that the cultural influence of Geneva and its appeal is growing.

And beautiful series continues, this time, read on TSR.ch:

The Geneva-based artist Mai-Thu Perret won the Zurich Art Prize 2011. The award, given for the fourth time, is endowed with 80,000 francs. It also allows the recipient to organize an exhibition at the Haus Konstruktiv Zurich. Mai-Thu Perret combines his work in numerous references and visual and ideological challenges the vision of the modern era, says the museum in Zurich on Monday in a statement. The jury appreciated the many facets of his work. The artist of 34 years to create installations, videos, paintings and objects.

I would say, in my opinion, that his work lacks neither humor nor control the plasticity of the materials and there is an aesthetic balance in its appropriation of space very interesting
